Newsflash! A serious post here on the Blog of strange!
I was just thinking the other day whilst at work , about the relationships we have with our colleagues against the relationships we have with our families.
As we go through our working lives, we meet many people along the way but very few do we remain in contact with later on in life.
On average, we probably spend more time with our colleagues at work than we do with our families, but when we leave off in the evening from work, few of us may think about our work colleagues again that evening. However as we leave our loved ones and good friends in the morning to go to work, we probably think about them on and off throughout the day.
On average in say a ten year period of work, we spend approximately 19200 hours with our workmates compared to 14400 hours with our loved ones (based on a five day week), although when a colleague leaves your firm for pastures new, you may never speak to or see them again even though you have shared more time with them than with your family.
It is a kind of switch on/switch off relationship with people at work and a permanent relationship with loved ones.
I don't really know the moral of the story, it just came to me and I wanted to share it, decide your own moral, maybe it's just to emphasize the importance of our families and good friends in life and the way they are always there for you no matter what.
That's it for now, just to avoid disappointment, I'm now off to iron blades of grass onto my clothes, so I can go to the snow camouflage society and look really out of place and tin'
See you all in the other chair!
Your ever loving Juan.
